McAlister's Deli Game Summary - PFOL 5 - Week 7

Team 4 – 58
Team 3 – 32

Indianapolis – Team 3 used a 29-6 run to start the 2nd half and turned a 1 point game at halftime into a blowout. Michael Wiesberg scored 28 points and Tamba Samba grabbed 12 rebounds.

Eric Flatt failed to record a double double today breaking his PFOL record of 16 consecutive games with at least 10 points and 10 rebounds. Flatt only scored 6 points but managed to grab 16 rebounds.

Team 3 played without Richie Smith (vacation) and Dave Neff (retirement).

“We got exposed today” said Scott Higginson. “I have never been so winded in my life”.

Team 2 – 55
Team 5 – 49

Indianapolis – In a battle of teams sitting at the bottom of the PFOL standings, Team 2 and Team 5 knew this was an important game. So important, that guard Jason Rost only showed up 10 minutes late for the game. “I usually roll in about 20-25 minutes late, but today I knew I needed to get there early” said Rost.

Team 2 was able to hold off Team 5 and squeeze out a 55-49 victory putting Team 5’s playoff hopes further out of sight.

Alan Mowrey scored 18 points and Andrew Boehner added 11. Vance Catlin made his return to the team after a 3 game absence and scored 8 points and 8 rebounds.

Notes from the games:

• The Photographer did not show up to work today. Rumor is he is on strike and wants lettuce and tomato added to his Chic-a-Fila sandwiches or he is not returning.
• Team 3 shot a dismal 4 of 21 (19%) from behind the Arc. 14 of 49 (29%) overall from the field. This marks the worst shooting performance in PFOL since last week.
• Thorpe Miller is in discussions with Team 3 to come out of retirement and join the team for the playoff run.
• Rookie of the Year voting has begun – Marty Lande leads all rookies with 2 votes.
