Breaking News - Elzy and Laycock stripped from all titles and awards

Indianapolis - The PFOL announced today that it is stripping Edmound Elzy and Rob Laycock from all PFOL Championships and any league awards that they won (including Elzy last season's assist title) due to violation of the league's Anti-Yoga rule. Section 2.2.1 of the PFOL rule book states: "No player, coach or league official shall participate in any form of Yoga while actively involved in the PFOL". When asked to comment on why the rule was put in place, former league commissioner, Alan Mowrey said, "Because it's Yoga, come on man!". Elzy declined to comment. Laycock said, "I love Yoga".

PFOL 7 Finals recap

Indianapolis – Team 3 was not happy that Team 1 was walking around the office like they had already won the title.  With a 1-0 lead in the series Team 1 had all but planned their celebratory team lunch.  “
“All I heard around the office from Boehner was, ‘Best Defensive Team ever’,  ‘back to back ‘ etc, etc, and it really pissed me off”, said Dustin Campbell.

Team 3 used a huge run to start the game and never looked back.  Team 1 got no closer than 6 points the rest of the game as Team 3 tied the series up 1-1.

Mitch Vanderhagan led the way with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Dustin Campbell locked down the self-proclaimed “the greatest player in PFOL history to come out of Inside Sales ” to just 5 points.

Game 3 is set for Tuesday.

PFOL 7 Game 1 Recap

Indianapolis- Team 1 took a 1-0 lead in the best of 3 series in the PFOL Finals Monday.  Edmound Elzy was a monster as he filled up the stat sheet by scoring 28 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, dishing out 7 assists, blocking 2 shots and snagging 2 steals.  Team 3 missed their all-star player Vance Catlin who missed his 11th game out of a possible 12 games this season.

Andrew Boehner chipped in with 15 points and had a career low 7 fouls.   Eric Cole scored only 6 points for his team who finds themselves facing an elimination game for the 2nd time this season.  “I guess it’s time to bring out Vance again.  I actually might even call up Alex Krows because you know he is technically on our team”, said Eric Cole.

“I don’t think it matters to us who plays.  We are the best defensive team to ever play in the PFOL”, said Andrew Boehner.

Game 2 is Tuesday and Boehner is so confident that he is taking a vacation day on Wednesday.

“This series was over before it even started.  Once I found out game 2 was on Tuesday, I booked a spa day for Wednesday”, said Boehner.

PFOL 7 - Playoffs - Game 3

Indianapolis-
Vance Catlin was technically on the Team 3’s roster but has not played a single game this season.  Four weeks into the season, commissioner Alan Mowrey allowed Team 3 to pick up Free Agents, Spencer Maxwell and Micth Vanderhagen to make up for absent Vance.   Low and behold, guess who shows up to the deciding game 3 of the first round matchup between Team 3 and Team 2?  Vance Catlin.

Any reasonable, sportsmanlike person would have either said, “Vance, since this is Game 3 and you haven’t been here all season maybe you should sit out” or “If you’re gonna play Vance, maybe we should sit out Mitch”.

Team 3 Capitan, Eric Cole didn’t neither.  What he did do was chest bump Vance and said, “Let’s get this game started”.

“I wasn’t going to be the one to tell Eric what to do.  I wanted to see what he was going to do on his own.  Plus, now I was even more pumped to beat them”, said Alan Mowrey.

The game went down to the wire, with Team 3 survived a last second game winning 3 attempt by Alan Mowrey to advance to the PFOL Finals 45-44.

Mitch Vanderhagen had a monster game with 18 points and 12 rebounds.  Vance Catlin made his presence felt as he scored 6 points and pulled in 7 rebounds.

Team 3 will face Team 1 on Monday in a best of 3 series for the PFOL title.

“I never thought I would say this, but I am rooting for Edmound Elzy”, said Alan Mowrey
