McAlister's Deli Game Summary - Week 4

Team 2 – 50
Team 3 – 49

Indianapolis – Alex Montagano hit a contested runner in the lane with 11 seconds left to put Team 2 up 50-49. Chris Lemay’s 15 footer clanked off the rim as timed expired giving Team 2 their first victory of the season.

Team 2 who was playing without star power forward, Vance Catlin, erased a 5 point deficit with just 50 seconds left to play. Alan Mowrey scored 2 quick layups which led to Alex Montagano’s game winning drive and layup.

“I tried to get into the lane and draw some contact. I got hit and threw the ball up at the rim and it somehow went in”, said Montagano.

With Catlin’s absence, Alan Mowrey picked up the scoring slack and ended up with 31 points on 13-28 shooting. “So, Flatt’s game plan was to play off of me and let me shoot. I wish everyone would use that strategy”, said Mowrey

Eric Flatt had another monster game as he scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.

Notes:
· Team 3 played without Michael Glaser who was busy passing out pencils at the Clinton County fair.

Team 1 cut the lead to just 1 before Brokl’s glasses were smacked off his face and destroyed. Brokl had to leave the game with 5 minutes left and never returned.

Team 4 took the game over from that point on and sealed the victory, improving to 3-0 on the season.
