Forecasted Showers 63
Patriot League Bombers 62

Forecasted Showers got their first win of the season 63-62 over the Patriot League Bombers and avoided becoming the first team in PFOL history to start the season 0-5. Forecasted Showers found themselves down by more than 15 points early in the 2nd half before they started chipping away at the lead. The Patriot League Bombers who only had 5 players for the second week in a row were visibly fatigued as the game came down to the wire. “We just couldn’t make shots at the end of the game, not having any subs really hurt us”, said Zach Bonvillian. Edmound Elzy scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Eric Flatt chipped in 18 points and 11 rebounds.

John Griffin scored a game high 30 points but failed to convert on several 3 pointers in the last minute of the game. This is third loss in the row for the Patriot League Bombers who will look to mix things up next week. “I think I am going to have to shoot more if we plan on winning any more games this year” said Griffin. 3 Peat played without Thorpe Miller, Dave Neff and Brian Stutzman.

3-Peat 59
Baston Jacks 62

Baston Jacks handed 3-Peat their first loss of the season on Tuesday with a 62-59 win. In a game that saw a lot of fouls and scuffles, Baston Jacks rode a 22 point, 18 rebound performance by Pat Sullivan to their 3rd straight win of the season.
“It was an ugly game, lots of bad fouls being called on both teams and some people lost their temper, but we fought through it all and came out with a victory”, said Sullivan. 3Peat’s Richie Smith led all scorers with 23 points including five three pointers. 3-Peat hit twelve 3 pointers in total. Jake Vernon hit five 3 pointers again this week - that is the 3rd straight game in which Vernon has hit five 3 pointers, setting a new PFOL record. Vernon also set the record for most 3 point field goal attempts in a 3 game span (58). Vernon left the game with an ankle sprain and is questionable for Thursday’s game.

Troy Brokl scored 19 points and hit four 3 pointers and Alan Mowrey chipped in 14 points in the paint for a surging Baston Jacks team. “I feel we are one of the best teams in the league and even without Jason McGuiness today we knocked off the so called first place team, said Troy Brokl.
