McAlister's Deli Game Summary - Finals

Indianapolis – After a two week break due the to the Pacers NBA playoffs, PFOL resumed it’s playoffs and crowned a new champion. Team 1 came into the Finals with the best record in the league and faced the 3rd seeded Team 4.

Team 1 jumped out to an early 9-2 lead behind the hot shooting of Jason Rost. Team 4 settled down and went on a 17-4 run and went into halftime with a 9 point lead. In the second half, Team 4 showed no signs of letting up as they cruised to an 84-61 victory.

Richie Smith led Team 4 and nabbed the PFOL’s first ever triple-double with 17 points, 10 Rebounds and 10 Assists. This is Vance Catlin’s third PFOL Championship and Richie Smith’s second. For all of the other players on Team 4 this is their first championship.

“It feels so good to finally get a ring. Everyone was lumping me in the same category with Edmound Elzy – good player but has never won a ring. Now I am finally off that list”, said Alan Mowrey. “I hope that we can all play together next season. I would love to see if we can repeat. I’m going to do everything in my power to see that this team stays together”.
