Week 2
Indianapolis - Team 3 pulled away in the second half
when Richie Smith came off the bench with a game high 18 points (16 coming in the
second half). Jason Gaither was the
player of the game with a solid 16 points 6 rebounds and 6 assists making an
assortment of layups and floaters. Drew
Franklin didn't follow through with his pregame promise of 20 points and 10 rebounds
and should have aimed for a more modest 8 points and 8 rebounds. Chris Taylor had a rough second half as his
team dropped their 2nd straight game. After the game Taylor had this to say, “I'm
not sure if it was the zone or what, but we just struggled to score. I tried to spin the ball off the backboard
every which I way I could but it just wasn't going in. One bright spot for Team 2 was the emergence
of Will Schnabel. He already has the
best Twitter account in the league but has shown the ability to hit a 3 and is
quickly become a fan favorite. One fan
said “if there were PFOL jerseys and I actually wanted to buy one first I would
get a Richie Smith jersey but second I would get a Will Schnabel jersey.”

Week 1 Recap
WOW! What an incredible start to
the first week of the PFOL Season 10! Both sets of games showed multiple
comebacks and tons of heart and passion.
Team Elzy faced Team Taylor
yesterday in a defensive slobberknocker. This game reminded me of the 2013
Pacers days against pretty much any other all defensive no offensive teams in
the league. Team Elzy used their bench very effectively and squeaked out a 35-29
win against the 5-man rotation Team Taylor put on the floor. “It hurts when you
don’t have your best lineup,” explained Team Captain Chris Taylor. “I have been
here for 2 years, seen Intern Drew become Drew Franklin and never seen him sick
a day in his life. Collusion? I hope not.”
Today’s matchup with Team Burger
against Team Reitan was quite the opposite. This game featured 30 more shot
attempts than the previous game with much high shooting percentages. “I’ll
admit,” proclaims Jeff Hughes. “I thought we would slaughter this team today.
Mad respect.” Our first OT game of the year goes down to the wire and Team
Burger sweated out the win against Team Reitan 64-61. We all knew what Branch
and Westberry would bring to the table, but what might be most surprising is
Team Captain Nathan Burger’s 14 point 7 rebound performance today. “I’m at 2!”
shouts Burger from the locker room. Altercations stemmed from an argument
between Burger and Elzy regarding how highly Burger thought of himself. “I
thought he was a 3 easily,” said Elzy. “Proved me wrong today.”

Gaither posted a 12 point 7 rebound effort and Westberry almost messed around
and got a triple double with a 16-6-6 display.

Zach Fronterhouse- VP of Operations
Zach was once the do-it all intern or as he would say King
of the Interns. Zach will lead our
operations department which will include website maintenance, some photography,
scorekeeping, and general work.
Kristyn Rogers – VP of Service & Statistics
Kristen (Krogers) Rogers comes to us from the Premium Services
world and will be a great asset to the league.
A world class Volleyball player and avid Florida fan she dislikes
everyone from Tennessee & Kentucky.
She will help out with stats, working the scoreboard, & just keeping
in 100.

PFOL vs CFO Exhibition Game
Cleveland, Ohio - a group of so called, "PFOL All-Stars" traveled to Cleveland Saturday to play an exhibition game against the Cavs Front Office (CFO).
PFOL jumped out to a 9 point lead early behind the hot shooting of Kyle Ward who score 12 of his team's first 18 points. CFO rallied to tie the game on a buzzer-beating 3 pointer by Nick Adams to end the first quarter.
The first half ended with CFO clinging to a 51-50 lead.
In the 2nd half, CFO built a 15 point lead with smothering defense that stifled the hot shooting PFOL team. PFOL managed to put together a 12-0 run in the final 3 minutes of the game to make things interesting.
With 2.0 seconds up by 1 point, James Hall tried to miss the front end of a 1 and 1 on purpose in order to run the clock out. His "shot" missed the rim and barely hit the backboard resulting in a violation and giving PFOL one last chance to win the game.
Chris Taylor's shot at the buzzer from the top of the key rimmed out and CFO escaped with a narrow 82-81 lead.
All 6 CFO players scored in double figures and was lead by Alan Mowrey's 18 points and 10 rebounds including a deep 3 in Andrew Boehner's eye to push a 4th quarter lead to 15 with 6 minutes left.
James Hall and Nick Adams each scored 16 points. Brendan McHugh grabbed a game high 20 rebounds and Scott Gordon dished out 10 assists for CFO
PFOL was led by Kyle Ward's 34 points. Ward continues to build his case as being the best player in PFOL. Edmound Elzy arguably the league's best player did not make the trip due to personal reasons and Rob Layock also did not make the trip due to him misplacing his knee pads.
Eric Cole added 13 points and Nathan Burger chipped in with 10 points.

Andrew Boenher on not getting enough shots: "I made 55 out of 100 3-pointers the other day in practice. I needed to get more shots."

Breaking News - Elzy and Laycock stripped from all titles and awards
Indianapolis - The PFOL announced today that it is stripping Edmound Elzy and Rob Laycock from all PFOL Championships and any league awards that they won (including Elzy last season's assist title) due to violation of the league's Anti-Yoga rule.
Section 2.2.1 of the PFOL rule book states: "No player, coach or league official shall participate in any form of Yoga while actively involved in the PFOL".
When asked to comment on why the rule was put in place, former league commissioner, Alan Mowrey said, "Because it's Yoga, come on man!".
Elzy declined to comment.
Laycock said, "I love Yoga".

PFOL 7 Finals recap
Indianapolis – Team 3 was not happy that Team 1 was walking
around the office like they had already won the title. With a 1-0 lead in the series Team 1 had all
but planned their celebratory team lunch.
“
“All I heard around the office from Boehner was, ‘Best Defensive Team ever’, ‘back to back ‘ etc, etc, and it really pissed me off”, said Dustin Campbell.

Team 3 used a huge run to start the game and never looked
back. Team 1 got no closer than 6 points
the rest of the game as Team 3 tied the series up 1-1.
Mitch Vanderhagan led the way with 16 points and 7 rebounds
and Dustin Campbell locked down the self-proclaimed “the greatest player in
PFOL history to come out of Inside Sales ” to just 5 points.
Game 3 is set for Tuesday.
